How we work

Results first, at every step

How a PMO Desk program runs, from the first week to a year after we hand over.

Two questions at every checkpoint

Programs are split into stages. At the end of each stage there is a checkpoint, and we ask two questions:

  • Is the work done? Tasks, documents and sign-offs, with evidence.
  • Are the results on track? The measures you approved, from your own systems.

A checkpoint passes only if both answers are yes. If the work is done but the results are behind, you hear it straight away, and you decide whether to fix the plan or change the target.

Example checkpoint reportSample figures
Checkpoint 2 · Ready to grow the team
Is the work done?Yes14 of 14 tasks signed off
Are the results on track?No84 of 120 engineers fully productive; plan was 120 by March
Checkpoint held. The work is done, but the results are behind plan. You decide: fix the plan, or change the target. Not the vendor, and not a computer.

From start to finish

  1. Agree the results

We turn your business case into three to five measurable results with targets and dates. You sign them off.

  2. Build one plan

One plan across every vendor and partner, with the checkpoints and the end date.

  3. Run and report

The program runs on the PMO Desk platform. You see it there any time, and get a short weekly report in your time zone that starts with results, then progress and risks. Daily stand-ups with the team in India.

  4. Decide at each checkpoint

You and your program lead decide, with the evidence in front of you on the platform. The decision is recorded.

  5. Hand over

On the date agreed at the start. You run it from here.

  6. Check again

Results checked at 3, 6 and 12 months after handover.

AI-accelerated, human-governed

AI does the paperwork. People decide.

AI frees our team from routine reporting and chasing, so their time goes on judgement and on talking to you.

What AI does

  • Drafts weekly reports from the program's own records.
  • Pulls risks, decisions and actions out of meeting notes and email.
  • Spots early warning signs, such as hiring falling behind or costs rising.
  • Translates reports between Japanese and English.

What people do

  • Check every report before you see it.
  • Make every checkpoint decision and every recommendation.
  • Decide what to raise with you, and when.

Every statement in a report links to its source. Your data is never used on another client's program. Your consent to AI use is written into the contract. More on AI in the platform.

Why you can trust our reports

We only run the program office. We don't build centres, employ staff, supply goods or sell vendors, and only you pay us.

These rules are written into every engagement contract.

  • If any firm connected to us is involved in your program, or could benefit from it, we tell you in writing before work starts.
  • We suggest another firm only if you ask, and always alongside at least one unconnected option.
  • If we would be judging the work of a connected firm, an outside reviewer joins, or we decline.
  • Findings rest on your own records, never a vendor's summary.
  • Ask who owns PMO Desk and we will tell you.

One view of the program

You, your program lead and your vendors work from the same numbers on the PMO Desk platform.

Priced by program

A fixed scope and end date, priced by checkpoint. Never by the hour.
